Survival Strategies
This is a collaborative project with Chiang Wen Soon and Janessa Aw, designed to make
Singapore’s natural biodiversity heritage more engaging, accessible, and personal for youth
audiences.
While SIGNIFY's rich, data-driven archive of specimens serves the scientific
community, its highly specialised nature can feel distant for the general public.
'Survival Strategies' bridges this gap through an interactive exhibition powered by hand
gestures
and facial recognition — transforming complex ecological data into intuitive, real-time
experiences. By seeing, moving, and discovering, users do not just learn about nature — they
connect with it in a way that feels instinctive and alive.
