'S' for Situationship
In today’s dating culture, a “situationship” exists in a gray area — where two
individuals
engage in behaviors resembling a romantic relationship but without clear boundaries or
commitment. This ambiguity often leads to confusion and emotional turbulence, as one person may
seek something deeper while the other remains indifferent.
To visualize this dynamic, I
reimagined the situationship experience as an endless game of “Snakes and Ladders”. Some days,
there’s a sense of progress — climbing the ladder — while on other days, setbacks pull one
right back to where they started. This cyclical nature reflects the uncertainty, hope and
frustration that define modern ambiguous relationships.
