The Spectrelics* Index
It is a digital exploration at the intersection of sound, code and
visual abstraction, challenging the boundaries of perception. Using p5.js as a computational
lens, I analysed a short audio recording of sea waves and transformed it into a radial
spectrogram — Spectrelic, an evolving entity born from sound.
By manipulating sine and
cosine waves,
altering pitch and pushing p5.js beyond conventional spectrographic visualisation, I uncovered
new aesthetic possibilities. Each variation reveals a unique digital specimen, reimagining p5.js
as an experimental laboratory.
